What is a switchable performance re-map?

Modern engines are controlled by software installed within the ECU (Engine Control Unit), the brain of the vehicle. Revo fine-tune this software through the cars OBDII port to allow for significant improvements in performance, whilst balanced with economy and safety.

Why does the manufacturer not do this?

An engine has to be designed with consideration towards providing consistent performance, regardless of the country/climate is will be used in. Allowances have to be made for poor maintenance and adverse conditions. This leaves a lot of room for improvement within a bespoke re-map.
